How to Get Unstuck as a Working Mom
If you are feeling stuck right now, you are not alone. This is a common feeling, especially where there are transitions in our lives. For me, the birth of a second child was a huge transition and I wanted to make career and life changes, but didn’t know how. As high-achieving working moms, it is also common to have a lot of your identity connected to “what” you do for work.
Here are simple steps and ideas to support you moving forward and making changes:
Get Clear on Your Ideal Future: First, think about what you really want for your life, career, and family. You can do this with a coach, mentor, friend, and meditate and journal about it. Dream BIG.
Start Small: Start with small steps and commit to the changes in how you think and behave. This may be taking a new class, attending new networking events, or walking a few times a week for example.
Get Support: Surround yourself with people who really believe in you. This could be friends, family, or working moms who understand what you're going through.
Here are some more ideas:
Take Care of Yourself: Make sure you get enough sleep, eat well, time in nature, and exercise to feel positive.
Set Boundaries: Try to keep work and home life separate. It's like having different rooms in your house for different things.
Hope this helps and know that you do not have to stay stuck. You can always change.
On the journey with you,
Tia
